The absolute greatest part of my job is bringing people off the streets, out of camp sites, and helping them get settled in to their new homes! Move-in days and tear provoking and life changing days. I've worked with people who have lived outdoors for over 15 years, who then get the opportunity for life as they know it to change tremendously. They no longer have to fear for their safety, carry their belongings everywhere they go, suffer in the elements, depend on community meals, and survive on whatever they come across.

Helping someone move in doors gives them a sense of normalcy, a sense of peace, and a feeling of worthiness. It's been amazing to me, watching as people adjust into life indoors and walking with them as they develop a stronger confidence in themselves and their abilities.

This is an agency that has an incredible impact on the lives of the homeless community. I feel honored impacted by all of the people I've had the privileged of working with during my few years at Micah.

Micah offers our clients an opportunity for things to be different. And this gift, is life changing. I've worked with people too afraid to leave their homes, too depressed to function, restricted by their addictions, limited by their disabilities, and dying of chronic illnesses. When their basic needs are met, and support is provided, people can heal, and their lives can begin to feel complete.
